What’s New at Shopify?

Shopify is now required to charge value-added tax (VAT) in South Africa.

Stores located in South Africa will see VAT applied to their Shopify bills beginning in January 2020. As part of this change stores in South Africa will be able to provide a VAT number to Shopify, or else indicate that they do not have a VAT number.
