What’s New at Shopify?

Following the introduction of the Incoming and Committed inventory states, Shopify POS now displays On Hand and Unavailable quantities via Product details view or Checkout.

Inventory states are quantities in POS that provide specific information about where your inventory is and if it can be sold. The On hand state represents the total inventory available at a location, including inventory that is committed or unavailable. The new Unavailable state is inventory that is not available to be sold because it is temporarily set aside, for a draft order for example.

This will help reduce unintended overselling and gain a quick and accurate view of inventory quantities directly in POS using inventory states.
